News Topical, Digital Desk : Dr. Losang Sangay, former president of the Tibetan government-in-exile, has made a significant claim. He says the Chinese embassy in New Delhi is trying to influence Indian leaders and influential people, even plotting a regime change.
Sangay warned India
Sangay said that India is not immune to this threat. Citing the example of the Chinese Embassy in Delhi, he said, "Look at the list of attendees at the National Day celebrations, and you'll find pictures of politicians and businesspeople."
Dr. Sange said that in Nepal, one party is pro-China and the other pro-India. Similarly, in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Maldives, China has cultivated relationships with those close to power. In Pakistan, all major parties are aligned with China. This is known as “elite capture.”
China's game exposed
He explained that this game isn't limited to Asia. Many European ministers first praised China and later found directorships in Chinese companies, earning annual salaries that reached millions of dollars.
Dr. Sange says that Indian leaders, businessmen and journalists should be especially cautious, because China does not care who is in power, it just wants to bring people together for its own benefit.
Sangay said that China's goal is to encircle India and dominate South Asia. This is why it supports the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh and seeks UN sanctions against terrorist groups that attack India.
India-China trade deficit termed as dangerous
He also described the India-China trade deficit as alarming. India buys $113 billion worth of goods from China but sells only $14 billion worth. This means fewer factories in India operate, jobs decline, and China benefits.
