New Delhi: During the festive season, airlines often make tickets expensive. Since many people want to go home during the festive season, the demand for tickets increases significantly. To take advantage of this, airlines increase the price of airfare.

According to an analysis by travel portal ixigo, airlines have already increased fares by 20 to 25 percent on many busy routes. However, there is no possibility of a major increase in air fares now. In fact, the government says that it is 'monitoring the situation' so that airlines cannot charge arbitrary fares.

Airfares become expensive during festivals

The demand for air tickets often increases during the holiday season. This also leads to a big jump in ticket prices. Speaking on this, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said, "Our ministry is already monitoring the ticket rates of all the routes in the country where a large number of people travel during the festive season. We will not force any airline to keep the same ticket price. But, we will also ensure that no airline is able to charge arbitrary fares."

India to be largest aviation market by 2035

Ram Mohan Naidu made this comment on air fares during the India Regional Air Mobility Conference, where he outlined the government's plans for the future of Indian aviation. The government is trying to make India a global aviation hub. Domestic airlines have already taken steps in this direction by ordering more than 1,200 new aircraft.

Naidu said, "By 2035, India will be the world's largest aviation market. We are going to build 350-400 new airports in the next 10-20 years, so that there is no problem in flying. For this, large scale investments are being made in infrastructure."
