What is UAN?

Universal Account Number is actually used to identify the Provident Fund (PF) account of employees. It is a 12-digit number, which remains the same for the employee throughout his tenure. How to get UAN?

If you work in a company that comes under the purview of EPFO, then after joining the job, it will open your PF account and give you a UAN number. This is only for those who join the job for the first time. If you change the job, then only a new PF account will be opened in the new company. The UAN number will remain the same as before. Visit the UAN website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.

Go to Important Links visible on the right hand side and click on Know your UAN.

Enter your registered mobile number and captcha code and click on Request OTP.

OTP will be sent to your registered number. Enter the OTP and captcha code and click on Validate OTP.

Now enter full name, date of birth, Aadhar or PAN and captcha code and click on Show My UAN.

On clicking Show My UAN, your Universal Account Number will appear on the screen.
