News Topical, Digital Desk : Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh said that blood donation is a great donation and a true service to humanity. People in the state donate blood on various occasions, and when a special day is celebrated with charitable acts like blood donation, its social value and spiritual merit are multiplied.
The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating a state-level blood donation camp on the occasion of Guru Tegh Bahadur's 350th martyrdom day at Kisan Bhawan in Sector 14, Panchkula, on Saturday (November 1). Extending his greetings to the people of the state on Haryana Day, he said that today is a day to celebrate the creation of Haryana and draw inspiration from the sacrifice of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur.
'Organising a blood camp is a true tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur'
Earlier, the Chief Minister encouraged the blood donors at the blood donation camp by presenting them with badges and congratulated and wished them well for this noble deed. Health Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao and Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma were also present on the occasion. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that organizing this blood donation camp is our true tribute to Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
"Dharma is not protected only by the sword, but by sacrifice."
He said, "His life teaches us that religion is protected not only by the sword, but by sacrifice and truth. When the soul of India was groaning under the tyranny of Aurangzeb, when people were being forced to convert to other religions, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji said, 'I gave my head but not my religion.' His sacrifice was not for any one community. It was for the freedom, religious belief, and freedom of expression of all humanity."
There is no greater religion than giving life – CM
The CM also said, "Today, on the occasion of Shri Teg Bahadur Ji's martyrdom day, when we donate blood, it is not just about giving life, but the greatest adherence to Guru Ji's message. Guru Ji taught us to sacrifice our lives for others. Today, by donating our blood, we are carrying forward that tradition of philanthropy. Donating blood is giving life, and there is no greater religion, no service, no worship than giving life."
Blood donation gives a new life to a patient – CM
Nayab Singh Saini continued, "Blood donation gives a patient a new lease on life. They are forever grateful to the donor. Science is making new advances every day, but it hasn't yet found a substitute for blood. Blood cannot be manufactured; only donated blood can save a life. When you donate blood, you not only save one person's life but also rescue an entire family from crisis. Therefore, we all must understand that blood donation is also a social responsibility."
The Chief Minister said he was proud to see such a large number of young people come forward to donate blood at this camp. Congratulating all the young people, he said, "You are the energy of change that gives direction to society. The participation of youth in charitable causes like blood donation will make Haryana and the country a sensitive, empowered, and aware society in the future." He urged everyone to take home the message from this blood donation camp: "Serving humanity is true worship of God."
Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao said, "Haryana has always firmly upheld its commitment to health, welfare, and social service. On this proud day of Haryana Day, we reaffirm our commitment to progress and development. Blood donation is one of the greatest acts a human being can perform. It is a gift of life, a silent vow to stand with someone in need."
The Health Minister stated that in any emergency or critical illness, a single unit of blood can mean the difference between life and death. Kumari Aarti Singh Rao said she is proud that Haryana has consistently played a leading role in public health care. The state's government and private blood banks are constantly striving to ensure safe and timely availability of blood.
He said, "Currently, there are a total of 152 licensed blood centers in the state, of which 34 are government and 118 are private/charitable. Of the 34 government blood centers, 26 offer blood components and 12 offer platelet apheresis. Today, more than 800 donors donated blood at 39 blood donation camps held across the state. More than 150 donors donated blood in Panchkula."
On this occasion, Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, former Speaker of Haryana Assembly Gyan Chand Gupta, District President Ajay Mittal, Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, DGHS Dr. Manish Bansal, Civil Surgeon Panchkula Dr. Mukta Kumar, OSD to Chief Minister Rakesh Sandhu, OSD Dr. Prabhleen, doctors, health workers and other dignitaries were present.
