News Topical, Digital Desk : By increasing dearness allowance, the Labour Department has fixed new wage rates across the state from April 1 to September 30.
The benefit of increased wages will be given to people working in 74 employments including various industries, petrol pumps, sweet shops, haircutting salons, beauty parlors, call centers, private hospitals and clinics.
The Labour Department had fixed the wage rates in October 2025 till March 31, 2026. Now, based on the increase in dearness allowance, the wages have been increased from April to September.
Labor Commissioner Markandey Shahi has announced new wage rates. Until last month, unskilled workers received a dearness allowance of ₹5,271, semi-skilled workers ₹5,798, and skilled workers ₹6,495. Now, unskilled workers will receive a dearness allowance of ₹5,563, semi-skilled workers ₹6,120, and skilled workers ₹6,855.37.
A Pathera who lays 1,000 bricks will receive ₹718.13. Wage rates are set on a monthly basis. The daily rate will be no less than 1/26 of the basic wage plus variable dearness allowance, and the hourly rate will be no less than 1/6 of the daily rate.
