News Topical, Digital Desk : A strange situation developed at the event in Bhadohi to mark the completion of nine years of the Yogi government. Minister AK Sharma continued to list the government's achievements from the stage, but the crowds in the pandal slowly began to disperse. The advice to farmers to export vegetables amid the Middle East crisis and the silence on local issues further fueled the event's debate.

District Minister in-charge and Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma attended the event as the chief guest, held on the grounds of Vibhuti Narayan Government Inter College (VNGIC) in Gyanpur under the themes of "9 years of reconstruction" and "Resolve to Achievement." The minister spoke from the stage, chanting "Jai Shri Ram" and "Jai Mata Di" and talking about establishing new dimensions of development, but the public and women gradually abandoned their seats and left. The minister's address continued from the stage, while the empty chairs captured on camera revealed the ground reality of the government's claims.

While the Iran-Israel war in the Middle East has severely affected major sea routes and airspace, such as the Strait of Hormuz, Minister-in-Charge AK Sharma, speaking from the Bhadohi platform, advised farmers to export vegetables like potatoes, cabbage, okra, and tomatoes by air from the Banaras International Airport. Far removed from the ground realities of the global crisis and skyrocketing airfares, the people in the pandal smiled inwardly upon hearing the minister's "airborne" wisdom and began abandoning their chairs midway through his speech.

The country has been transformed in the last 9 years – AK Sharma

Speaking to reporters, Minister AK Sharma launched a scathing attack on SP chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for questioning the Rs 25,000 crore investment (MoU) with 'Pooch AI', a company with a net worth of just Rs 43 lakh, and demanding an impartial investigation into all the government's agreements. Countering, the Minister said that if the opposition cannot see the transformation of the state and the historic development on the ground in the last nine years and is only demanding an investigation, then Akhilesh Yadav should change the number of his glasses. The works of the Yogi government are so extensive that even a thousand mouths cannot describe them.

The minister in charge was seen avoiding questions

The former minister in charge of the event performed the ceremonial duties of baby shower, Annaprashan, and award distribution to meritorious children, but his demeanor changed when journalists questioned him. When questioned about paperwork in the district, the signboards painted with the colors of former Chief Minister Mayawati's party, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), on the border of the Bhadohi Municipal Corporation area, and the alleged irregularities in road construction, the minister fled his chair instead of answering. While the minister in charge patted himself on the back, he continued to focus on local corruption issues.

While dignitaries may have heaped praise and blamed the opposition at events marking nine years of security, good governance, and prosperity, the general public's indifference is a serious warning. Minister AK Sharma urgently needs to shed his self-indulgence and face the real plight of the people, otherwise the BJP could lose power in the upcoming Panchayat and Assembly elections.
