News Topical, Digital Desk : AWL Agri Business Limited (formerly Adani Wilmar Ltd) on Thursday (July) reported a 21% year-on-year increase in revenue for the first quarter of FY26, supported by higher edible oil realisations, even as overall volumes declined 4% due to multiple operational challenges.
The decline in volumes was driven primarily by muted consumer demand, consolidation of regional rice operations, and the phase-out of government-to-government (G2G) rice sales. Edible oils volumes fell 2% year-on-year, mainly due to weak palm oil sales. Excluding palm oil, branded edible oil volumes saw low single-digit growth, aided by continued strength in mustard oil.
Quick commerce sales delivered over 75% year-on-year growth in the quarter. Revenue from alternate channels—including modern trade, e-commerce, quick commerce, and e-B2B—crossed ₹3,900 crore over the last twelve months. Branded export volumes grew 22% on a trailing twelve-month basis, with revenue crossing ₹300 crore.
In the food and FMCG segment, revenue excluding the G2G business declined 2% year-on-year in Q1. The G2G rice sales were largely discontinued after Q3 FY25. Wheat flour volumes were impacted by soft demand and pricing pressures, although the company gained 30 basis points in market share over the past year.
The flour portfolio is being expanded to include more value-added variants, with SRM products showing strong momentum. Double-roasted semolina was introduced in the South market during the quarter.
Industry Essentials revenue crossed ₹2,000 crore in Q1, with nearly 9% growth in volumes, supported by performance in the de-oiled cake segment. The company remained India’s top castor oil exporter and continued to expand into new international markets.
GD Foods, acquired earlier, delivered high single-digit revenue growth year-on-year. Initiatives are underway to improve margins and expand market presence across channels.
Shares of AWL Agri Business Ltd ended at ₹256.60, down by ₹0.80, or 0.31%, on the BSE.
