India is moving in the right direction in the field of EV

Gadkari said that the record of the last few years shows that India has taken steps in the right direction in the field of electric vehicles. The 45 percent increase in EV sales in the year 2023-24 and the establishment of 400 start-ups proves this. Many battery manufacturing companies from around the world have now started setting up plants in India. In such a situation, India is also likely to emerge as a strong country in the manufacture of batteries for EVs.

Three percent discount will be available on scrap of vehicles

Gadkari welcomed the decision taken by SIAM to give a discount of three percent on scrapping of old vehicles. He urged all companies to set up their own scrap facilities. Automobile companies can increase their profits by setting up scrapping facilities.

India's dominance in auto exports will increase further

The ground is being prepared to make India a world leader in automobile exports. SIAM has identified 50 such parts and equipment used in the automobile sector, which are currently being imported in large quantities. The effort will be to manufacture them in India itself so that dependence on imports can be reduced. This will help in reducing imports worth Rs 25 thousand crores in the automobile sector in the next five years. This strategy is being implemented in collaboration between SIAM and ACMA, an organization of companies manufacturing components for the automobile sector.

Maruti Suzuki's exports increased in four years

Meanwhile, India's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has said that its car exports from India will increase threefold by 2030. Maruti Suzuki's exports from India have also increased threefold in the last four years.
