News Topical, Digital Desk : Congress has won the by-election for the Anta assembly seat in Rajasthan's Baran district. Congress candidate Pramod Jain Bhaya defeated BJP candidate Morpal Suman. Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has reacted to this victory.

Following the victory of the Congress candidate in the Anta assembly seat by-election, Ashok Gehlot said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state has failed its own "litmus test." Gehlot congratulated all party leaders and workers for the victory.

'Thank you to the voters'

He posted, "I express my heartfelt gratitude to all voters for ensuring Congress's victory in the Anta by-election and extend my heartfelt congratulations to newly elected MLA Pramod Jain Bhaya." Former CM Gehlot said that the Anta victory has once again strengthened the public's faith in the Congress under the leadership of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.

'Government has failed in two years'

Taking a dig at the state government, he said, "The BJP government has failed to cite even a single concrete achievement of its last two years. The common man is extremely upset due to the weakening of our popular public welfare schemes and this result is the public's approval of the schemes previously launched by the Congress government."

'Government fails litmus test'

He said, "This result shows that in just two years, anti-incumbency sentiment has taken hold against the state government and it has failed its own litmus test." Gehlot thanked all Congress leaders and workers for their hard work in Anta.
