
News Topical, Digital Desk : Mukesh Agnihotri News: Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri chaired a high-level review meeting of the Jal Shakti Department in Shimla on Saturday. The progress of various developmental projects related to the Jal Shakti Department was reviewed in the meeting.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the departmental officers to complete all the pending projects and works related to the Jal Shakti Department in the state on priority basis within the stipulated time frame. He said that proper management of water resources and ensuring reliability of water supply is the priority of the state government.
Mukesh Agnihotri instructed the officers to visit their respective fields from time to time and inspect them. He said that the problems of the public should be resolved immediately and its report should be submitted to the senior officer.
Under Jal Jeevan Mission, only Rs 5,100 crore has been received so far from the sanctioned amount of Rs 6,300 crore from the Centre and the sanctioned amount of Rs 1,200 crore has not been received yet.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that this issue will be raised before the Central Government. In the year 2024-25, 920 crores were sanctioned but the state has received the sanctioned amount of only 137 crores. The amount of 783 crores has not yet been received from the Central Government.
Mukesh Agnihotri said that a report of the Jal Rakshaks who have been providing services for 12 years in the Jal Shakti Department will be prepared soon and presented before the cabinet.
Mr. Mukesh Agnihotri directed the department to increase transparency and effectiveness in the implementation of schemes related to public interest. He also said that ensuring uninterrupted supply of water to the general public is the priority of the state government and any kind of negligence in this will not be acceptable.
Yantra Anju Sharma presented detailed information about various schemes and projects related to the department to the Deputy Chief Minister. She also gave detailed information on the current status of the projects, budget requirement and upcoming targets.
