News Topical, Digital Desk : A controversy has erupted after dancing to film songs at the famous Srisailam temple in Andhra Pradesh. The video is rapidly going viral on social media. Consequently, police have filed a case against five employees. The incident occurred during a New Year's party, when these employees ignored temple rules and indulged in revelry.
What is the whole matter?
The Mallikarjuna Annasatra at the Srisailam Temple is a free food center attached to the temple. Devotees who come here receive free meals. On New Year's Eve, some Annasatra staff members danced to film songs inside the premises.
After the video went viral, devotees called it an attack on the sanctity of the temple. The temple authority stated that the accused employees performed an obscene dance at the sacred shrine, deeply hurting the religious sentiments of devotees. Police took immediate action following a complaint from Chief Security Officer Babu. A case was registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Additionally, an investigation was initiated against the Annasatra staff for violating the Endowments Act.
Srisailam Devasthanam Executive Officer Srinivasa Rao stated clearly that dancing or making reels is strictly prohibited in the temple or any associated premises. He warned that strict legal action will be taken against those who violate the rules.
