News Topical, Digital Desk : At least 20 people are feared dead after a Kaveri Travels AC bus going from Hyderabad to Bengaluru caught fire near Chinna Tekur in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. Around 21 people saved their lives by breaking the glass and jumping out of the bus. Those who could not save their lives were burnt to death. This tragic accident took place at around 3 am today when the bus caught fire minutes after colliding with a bike and leaking fuel. 20 people are reported dead in this accident while 11 people injured in the accident are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

According to the bus's additional driver, they first tried to extinguish the fire, and when it got out of control, they tried to break the bus windows. Passersby also broke some of the windows. The Kurnool Superintendent of Police said those who jumped off the bus survived.

According to the District Collector, the bus was carrying 41 people, including two drivers. Currently, 21 people have been located, and the bodies of 11 of the remaining 20 have been recovered. Both drivers are absconding. It is reported that the bus doors were locked after the fire broke out. Fire and police teams arrived at the scene and began rescue operations. The bus was completely burned. The injured were admitted to the government hospital in Kurnool. Police have registered an FIR and are investigating the incident.
