News Topical, Digital Desk : An Air India flight from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad was forced to make an emergency landing. There were 103 passengers on board at the time of the incident. The plane had to make an emergency landing after a bird strike and an engine malfunction.

Visakhapatnam Airport Director S Raja Reddy said the pilot of Air India Express flight number IX 2658 requested an emergency landing and returned to Visakhapatnam, cancelling its journey to Hyderabad.

All passengers on board the plane are safe

Reddy told PTI that after taking off from Visakhapatnam, the pilot reported some engine problems. Therefore, he requested an emergency landing and returned to Visakhapatnam. The plane landed safely and passengers were disembarked. He also said that the airline is making alternative arrangements.

Plane makes emergency landing after bird hit

The plane departed Visakhapatnam at 2:38 p.m. and returned by 3 p.m. The plane covered only 10 nautical miles, and the bird strike is suspected to have occurred during takeoff.
