What did Afghanistan say?
The Afghan Defense Ministry has reported the ongoing tensions along the border, claiming the deaths of 12 Pakistani soldiers.
Taliban forces have captured several Pakistani army posts in Kunar and Helmand provinces across the Durand Kekha. At least 12 Pakistani soldiers were killed and several wounded in the fighting.
Gulf countries responded
The Gulf countries are also on edge due to the increased tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Another escalation between Israel and Hamas could cause instability throughout the region. Iranian diplomat Abbas Araghchi has appealed to both sides for restraint.
Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying, "The kingdoms should exercise restraint and engage in dialogue to de-escalate tensions. This will promote peace and stability." Qatar's Foreign Ministry said in a statement, "Both countries should attach importance to diplomatic dialogue."
India gave a befitting reply to Pakistan
Pakistan has accused India of supporting Afghanistan. India has categorically rejected these allegations, stating, "We do not interfere in Afghanistan's internal affairs."
Explaining the reason behind the attack on Afghanistan, the Pakistani Army said, "Many bases are being built in Afghanistan against Pakistan, evidence of which has also been found. We have taken this necessary step to protect life and property."
