News Topical, Digital Desk : A woman lost her life in an accident in Tamhini Ghat, Maharashtra. A rock suddenly fell on her car while she was traveling on a mountain road, shattering the sunroof and landing on her, killing her.
The woman was traveling from Pune to Mangaon when a large boulder fell on her car. The impact was so strong that the boulder shattered the sunroof and landed directly on the woman sitting in the passenger seat. The woman has been identified as 43-year-old Snehal Gujarati.
A series of accidents in Maharashtra
In a separate incident, a private luxury bus traveling from Mumbai to Jalna on the Samruddhi Highway caught fire on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on the Nagpur lane of the highway. The bus was carrying 12 passengers, including the driver and his assistant. The driver immediately evacuated the bus, saving the passengers' lives.
Earlier this month on October 18, at least eight people were killed and 15 others injured when a speeding mini truck fell into a ditch in Maharashtra's Nandurbar district.
A mini truck carrying about 40 people was returning from a pilgrimage site when its driver lost control, an official said, adding that the mini truck plunged into a 200-foot-deep ravine.
