News Topical, Digital Desk : A simple mobile phone theft case in Mumbai's Kandivali area escalated into an attack on policemen on Sunday night. The police team that went to arrest the accused was attacked by his family members, leading to a scuffle and a serious situation. Following this incident, the police took strict action and arrested five people.

According to police sources, this incident occurred near Ekta Nagar. A fight broke out between two parties over a mobile phone theft. Upon receiving information, a Kandivali police team arrived at the scene. Police attempted to separate the fighting individuals and took the accused into custody and began placing him in a police van.

What is the whole matter?

After the accused was taken into custody, his family members jumped in. They started arguing with the police and then got into a scuffle. Police say the family members obstructed their duties and interfered with government work, leading to a worsening of the situation. Police managed to control the situation and filed a case against the accused under serious charges.

According to police, Anil Yadav, the victim of the theft, was allegedly robbed of his mobile phone by two men named Nitesh and Elia. Anil told his relative, Shivam, about the incident. Shivam, along with his friends, Dashrath Kanaujia and Bhim Kanaujia, went to confront Nitesh. Pappu Jha and Vicky Singh were also present with Nitesh, leading to a physical altercation between the two sides.

Accused sent to police custody

When police arrived at the scene and asked everyone to go to the police station, Pappu Jha, along with his father Chandrakant, mother Suman, brother Guddu, and Vicky Singh, created a ruckus. They tried to stop the policemen and allegedly attacked them. Police immediately arrested five people, while a search is underway for Jha's parents and brother.

The arrested accused were produced before the Borivali Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Monday, where they were remanded in police custody. Police say the investigation is ongoing and the remaining escapees will be apprehended soon.
