New Delhi: A woman in America was found guilty of running a sex racket. This woman used to provide services to politicians, military officers, lawyers and corporate officers in the Boston area and Washington area and then charged them huge amounts of money.
Han Lee, 42, appeared in Boston federal court on Friday to plead guilty to charges that she "conspired to induce" mainly Asian women to travel to Massachusetts and Virginia to engage in a sex racket and committed money laundering, prosecutors said.
was arrested last year
The Massachusetts resident was arrested and charged in November last year along with Junmyung Lee, 31, and James Lee, 69. They were later indicted by a federal grand jury in February for running a sex racket.
Han Li faces up to 25 years in prison when she is sentenced in December. She told the judge that while she ran a sex trade, she did not force any women to engage in sex work.
How did she run the sex racket?
According to prosecutors, since at least July 2020, Han Li operated an interstate sex network with multiple sex rackets in Cambridge and Watertown, Massachusetts, and Fairfax and Tysons, Virginia.
"He set up the infrastructure for these brothels in multiple states for the purpose of persuading, inducing and enticing women - primarily Asian women - to travel to Massachusetts and Virginia to engage in prostitution," prosecutors said. It is also alleged that Han Lee and his associates coordinated the women's airline travel and transportation and allowed them to stay overnight at the sex office so they would not have to find accommodations elsewhere.
