A woman died and 50 others fell sick after eating momos sold at a roadside stall in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Some of the victims filed a complaint with the Banjara Hills police on Monday. The police have registered a case and started investigation and arrested two people selling momos.

Reshma Begum, 31, her children and several others from the Sangdakunta colony had eaten momos on Friday. On Saturday, they suffered from vomiting and diarrhoea. They went to various hospitals in Banjara Hills for treatment. When Reshma Begum's condition became critical, she was shifted to Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences, where she died.

Was poison mixed in momos?

Officials suspect that apart from momos, mayonnaise and chutney may also have caused food poisoning. Meanwhile, 36 students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Mutharam of Peddapalli fell ill due to poisonous food. All of them have been admitted to Peddapalli Hospital. Medical officer Pramod Kumar said that the condition of all the students is stable.
