These people were opposing the demonstration of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. During this time violence broke out. DCP Niketan Kadam has been seriously injured in this incident. According to the information received so far, he has been attacked with an axe. At present, the police has implemented Section 163 of the Indian Penal Code (which used to be Section 144 of the IPC) in Mahal.

On Nagpur violence, DCP Nagpur Archit Chandak said, "This incident happened due to some misunderstanding. The situation is under control now. Our force is strong here. I appeal to everyone not to come out or pelt stones. Stone pelting was going on, so we showed force and also used tear gas.
