New Delhi. The weather in Delhi suddenly changed on Wednesday evening and rain in many areas brought relief to the residents of the capital from the heat. The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky on Thursday, thunderstorm or light rain with thunder. Strong winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in the capital. Today the maximum and minimum temperature here can be 42 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively.
The weather became pleasant in Delhi
Delhi is getting some relief from the scorching heat. The weather department has predicted drizzle with strong winds for the next two days. During this period, the maximum temperature is expected to remain above normal. A yellow alert has been issued for dusty winds as well as light rain in Delhi.

Humid heat in Bihar

There is a forecast of heat wave in Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad and Arwal. According to the Meteorological Center Patna, dry westerly winds are blowing in southern parts including Patna. Due to this, humid heat will trouble people during the day and night. There will be movement of clouds in Patna and surrounding areas after noon.
Hot winds are blowing in many places including Rajasthan and Punjab
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), during the last 24 hours, hot winds blew in many areas of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and North West Madhya Pradesh. Dust storms occurred in some areas of Madhya Pradesh. During this time, the maximum temperature was recorded between 43-46 degrees Celsius in most areas of the plains of North West India and adjacent Central India, which was 2-4 degrees more than normal.
During this period, the highest temperature of 46.8 degree Celsius was recorded in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, heavy rains occurred at some places and very heavy rains at some places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
Heavy rain in northeastern states
Heavy rains occurred at isolated places in the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura. Rainfall was also recorded at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, northern interior Karnataka and central Maharashtra.
At the same time, hailstorm occurred at many places in Uttarakhand and western Madhya Pradesh. According to IMD, maximum temperature in eastern India may increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next two days.
Heavy snowfall on Himachal peaks
Heavy snowfall occurred on the peaks of Lahaul-Spiti and Chamba on Wednesday amid yellow alert in some parts of Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rains occurred in many areas of Shimla and some districts of the state, Kinnaur, Kullu, Chamba, Solan and Kangra. Heavy hailstorm occurred in Dalash of Kullu district, Palampur and Baijnath of Kangra. There has been some relief from the heat as the weather changed in the state. However, after the rain, humidity has increased in the plain districts. Due to sunshine during the day, heat wave prevailed in Mandi.
