
UP News: Today is the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. Before the last Friday prayers, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had made an appeal to Muslims across the country. They had asked all Muslims to offer namaz by wearing a black band. AIMPLB had made this appeal in protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024.
Meanwhile, a video has surfaced from Meerut. In Meerut, the police stopped a man going to offer namaz and made him remove the black band tied on his hand. The man was going towards the mosque to offer Friday prayers. The security personnel deployed on the spot saw him coming and immediately removed the black band tied on his hand.
AIMPLB appealed to Muslims across the country
AIMPLB appealed to all Muslims across the country to wear a black band on their right hand while offering namaz in protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024. AIMPLB General Secretary Maulana Mohammad Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi released a video on the X handle of the Waqf Board and urged all Muslims to do so.
AIMPLB shared a letter related to this on its social media platform X and wrote, 'It is the responsibility of every Muslim to oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill. The board appeals to all Muslims to go to the mosque for Jummatul Vida Namaz with a black band tied on the right hand and register their protest in a peaceful manner.'
Administration is on high alert mode in Uttar Pradesh regarding Friday prayers
Heavy police force has been deployed in many districts of the state including Sambhal, Meerut, Prayagraj, Kanpur. Police has also issued separate advisory in Sambhal, Ballia and Meerut. During this time, maulanas have also appealed to the people not to offer namaz on the road.
