New Delhi. Flight Bomb Threat: The series of bomb threats on planes is not stopping. On Friday, a Vistara flight (UK17) from Delhi to London was diverted to Frankfurt after receiving a bomb threat. After this, the flight had to make an emergency landing in Frankfurt.
On Saturday morning, an airline spokesperson said that the flight landed safely at Frankfurt airport and mandatory checks are being carried out. The flight will fly to its destination after getting clearance from security agencies.
An Akasa Air flight received a threat on Friday
Meanwhile, Akasa Air said its flight QP 1366, flying from Bengaluru to Mumbai on Friday, received a security alert shortly before departure.
In the last few days, 40 flights have received bomb threats. However, all the threats turned out to be rumours.
Indian government expressed concern
The Civil Aviation Ministry is planning to tighten rules for airlines to prevent incidents of false bomb threats, including putting offenders on a no-fly list.
Strict action will be taken against those who threaten
Civil Aviation Minister K Ramamohan Naidu expressed concern over the threat to bomb flights. He said the ministry was considering amending rules to ensure that airlines take strict action against incidents of bomb threats.
He ruled out the possibility of any big conspiracy behind these incidents. Mumbai Police has registered seven cases in three days in this connection.
10 Social Media Handled Blocks
Cyber security agencies have suspended or blocked about 10 social media handles that were giving bomb threats to flights. Sources said orders to suspend these handles were issued after a joint team of cyber, aviation security and intelligence agencies analysed them as they were spreading rumours. Most of these accounts were on X.
The minor had threatened to blow up with a bomb!
A few days ago, there was a threat to bomb an Air India flight going from Mumbai to New York. In this connection, Mumbai Police went to Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh and took a minor into custody.
A 17-year-old minor from the Agarwal family, a resident of Sun City in the city, had spread the rumour of a bomb in the plane through social media.
