Washington: The US military has taught a big lesson to Yemen's Houthis. In retaliation to the Houthis' attack in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, the US military has destroyed more than a dozen Houthi bases in an airstrike. The US military said that it carried out this targeted attack on more than a dozen bases of Houthi rebels on Friday. During this, Houthi's weapon systems, bases and other equipment were targeted. US officials confirmed this attack.
Yemen's Houthi rebels have the support of Iran. According to officials, various bases of Houthi rebels located in five places were bombed by military aircraft and warships. Earlier reports said that Britain was also involved in the air strikes on the bases of Houthi rebels. But later officials clarified that Britain was not involved in these attacks.
Houthi-controlled military base and port were also targeted
Reports released in Houthi media said that seven attacks were carried out on the airport of the major port city of Hodeida and the Houthi-controlled military base Qathib. It was told that four attacks were carried out in the Seyana area of Yemen's capital Sanaa and two in Dhamar province. The Houthi media office said that three air strikes were also carried out in Bayda province, south-east of Sanaa. The US military has carried out these attacks at a time when just a few days ago Houthi rebels had threatened to 'intensify military operations' in Israel after shooting down a US military drone in Yemen.
