Dharmendra, known as HeMan, ruled Bollywood for four decades. He gave one hit film after another. Dharmendra was considered one of the most handsome men not only in Bollywood but in the world. When Dharmendra entered films, girls went crazy for him. He entered films in the year 1969 as a romantic hero. After that, his career transformed into an action hero with Mera Gaon Mera Desh. He was given the title of "He-Man" and "Garam Dharam" for his look and popularity in action films.
Dharmendra worked in B-Grade films
But by the year 1999, Dharmendra's film career had gone downhill. His market value suddenly went down. This was the time when actors like Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt were making a place in Bollywood. This was the time when Dharmendra started signing B grade films. Meanwhile, Kanti Shah, who was called the uncrowned king of B grade films, offered him his film Munnibai.
Dharmendra accepted this offer without knowing what he was thinking. This is how he entered B grade films. His films had a lot of action scenes and some sex scenes. This was the main attraction of Kanti Shah's films. Dharmendra had done 4-5 films with Kanti Shah. The director was earning a lot of money from such films. But his greed kept increasing. In the year 2000, Kanti Shah was making Aaj Ka Gunda with Dharmendra.
Kanti Shah betrayed the actor
Kanti played such a trick with Dharmendra in this film that not only Dharmendra but also his son Sunny Deol was shocked. Actually, she tricked Dharmendra into shooting an adult scene. In one of the scenes, Dharmendra had to ride a horse after applying oil on his body, which was to be shot as an action scene. But the producer deliberately shot the entire scene by focusing on Dharmendra's face. After this, he hired a body double and then while shooting the rape scene with her, merged Dharmendra's face on her face. The actor was completely unaware of all this because this was not an original scene.
Sunny Deol beats up the director
However, some people passed on this news to Sunny Deol. Sunny Deol did not believe it at first but by then the film had been released in theatres. After seeing the proof, Sunny Deol called Kanti Shah to his office and thrashed him. He was told to immediately remove the film from the theatres or else he would take legal action against him. This is what happened and that scene was removed from the film.
