UP BJP Candidate List 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday announced the candidate for the Sisamau seat of Kanpur for the UP by-election. BJP has given a chance to Suresh Awasthi here. Suresh Awasthi will contest against Naseema Solanki, wife of SP leader Irfan Solanki. Suresh Awasthi has contested the 2017 election from Sisamau seat on a BJP ticket. Suresh Awasthi lost that election by 5500 votes.

Earlier on Thursday morning, BJP had announced the names of candidates for seven seats for the assembly by-elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh. BJP has declared Ramveer Singh Thakur from Kundarki, Sanjeev Sharma from Ghaziabad, Surendra Diler from Khair, Anuj Yadav from Karhal, Deepak Patel from Phulpur, Dharmaraj Nishad from Katehari and Suchismita Maurya from Majhawan as candidates. Let us tell you that by-elections are to be held on 9 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.

BJP has announced the names of its candidates for 7 of these seats today. The party has given one seat, Mirapur, to its ally RLD to contest. BJP's ally Nishad Party was also demanding a seat for itself, but after several rounds of talks at many levels, BJP finally decided to field its own candidate. BJP has fielded Suchismita Maurya from Majhawan, the seat of Nishad Party.

Due to the setback in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections, the by-elections to be held on nine assembly seats in the state have become very important for the BJP. The prestige of the state's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is at stake on these seats, while these by-elections have also become an election of prestige for both Akhilesh Yadav's party and his family.
