Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of America today. Addressing thousands of supporters at a 'victory rally' in the US capital, newly elected President Donald Trump has made many promises.
Trump has been in a mood to create a stir right from the first day after taking oath. Trump also promised to fix every crisis facing America with 'historic speed and strength'. To cheers at the Make America Great Again victory rally at Capital One Arena, he said, 'By sundown tomorrow, the invasion of our country will stop.'
There will be strict control on the borders
Addressing thousands of supporters, President-elect Donald Trump said he would fulfill a central promise of his presidential campaign: swiftly expel illegal immigrants from the US, while tightening border controls. The MAGA rally resembled the free-wheeling campaign speeches that have been Trump's staple since his first serious White House campaign in 2016.
Trump's rally also marks the 78-year-old Republican's first major address in Washington since his speech on January 6, 2021, after which an angry mob of his supporters attacked the US Capitol.
'The curtain closes on four long years of American decline'
- Trump further told the packed stadium, "Tomorrow at noon, the curtain will close on four long years of American decline."
- "We will begin a new day of American strength and prosperity," Trump said. He reiterated that he would pardon many of the more than 1,500 people convicted or charged in connection with the attack.
- Incoming President Trump also vowed to undo every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration within hours of taking office.
