You must remember the song 'Samandar Mein Nahake' from the movie Pukar. Actor Amitabh Bachchan shot this song for the first time after recovering from the fatal accident on the sets of Coolie movie. Zeenat Aman played the lead role in the movie. The romantic track 'Samandar Mein Nahake' of the two became very popular.
Zeenat Aman, famous for her boldness, wore a two-piece in this song. Recently, Zeenat has shared an interesting anecdote behind the shooting of the song. She has told how that song was shot with Amitabh Bachchan and what was the biggest obstacle during this?
The actress spoke on shooting a romantic song
Zeenat Aman has shared the clip of the song 'Samandar Mein Nahake' on her Instagram account. Along with this, she wrote in the caption, "Ufff. I will say it frankly. This is a post taken in heat. It was really very hot. I mean the weather. However, I will not hesitate to say that Mr. Bachchan and I were sizzling while romancing on those salty lyrics. Shooting for director-producer Ramesh Bahl's Pukar was a lot of fun. I liked the script because of the strong cast and cool songs."
Amitabh was roaming around Zeenat Aman
Zeenat Aman said, "Goa was quiet in the early 80s. So 'Samandar Mein Nahaake' was shot on an empty beach and was very easy. At least for me. I didn't have to do any lip-syncing, or learn much choreography. The brief was as simple as they come - look beautiful! So there I was in a flowy white dress, showing a bit of midriff, frolicking around in the surf, while Mr Bachchan danced around me like an ecstatic paradise-bird."
This problem came during the shoot
Zeenat Aman further added, "My seamless performance was hindered by one small thing - I don't know how to swim. I had to swallow a fair amount of nervousness (and seawater) for the shots where I was splashing around in the waves. Despite falling into the waves a few times and being covered in sand at uncomfortable places, I felt I had done a great job as a mermaid. Whether romantic or platonic, send this post to someone who wants to give you a chance to enjoy a beach vacation this summer."
Amitabh shot for the first time after the fatal accident
Zeenat Aman added, "Note- Another little tidbit for you. This was Mr Bachchan 's first shoot after the fatal accident on the sets of Coolie in 1982. By that time Bachchan mania was well established in the country and the nation was holding its breath until he fully recovered. So as you can imagine, the mood on the sets was quite feisty during the making of this film."
