Lucknow. The pace of work on the green corridor being built by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) to connect old Lucknow to new Lucknow has increased. After the completion of the first phase of work from IIM Road to Pakka Pul, now the work on the corridor to be built from Pakka Pul to Hanuman Setu has gained momentum. Here the implementing agency has started the work of building pillars near Sankalp Vatika at a fast pace.
A roundabout crossing will be built on Hanuman Setu. This corridor will add to the beauty of the city. In the coming time, the green corridor will be connected to the outer ring road. Then people living in any corner of the city will be able to connect to the outer ring road, Agra Expressway, Lucknow Kanpur Expressway, because all these are interconnected. One will also be able to enter Lucknow directly through these national highways.
Bridge will be built on Gomti river
Lucknow Development Authority will build a 1.7 km long flyover, road over bridge (ROB) and a bridge over the Gomti river on the green corridor. Vehicle riders will be able to climb the concrete bridge and get down in front of Mankameshwar temple on Lucknow University Road and go towards Hanuman Setu.
A flyover will be built from Pakka Pul to Daliganj Bridge. It is proposed to build ROB till Surajkund Park and then a flyover over Gomti till Mankameshwar Temple. After these works are completed, a large population will get relief. At the same time, after the construction of the entire green corridor, more than 20 lakh population will be benefited.
The cost will be recovered from those who avail the facility
Lucknow Development Authority will recover the cost of the Green Corridor in the form of amenity fee while approving the map. There is a plan to collect the cost from the residents living within a radius of one km on both sides of the Green Corridor. This fee will be charged when the map of the building is approved.
Four lane bridge will be constructed
A four-lane bridge will also be built on the Kukrail river. It is proposed to build a four-lane road to connect the 12 m road of Hanuman Setu to the Samtamulk Chauraha of Gomti Nagar. With its construction, people coming from Hanuman Setu will be able to go directly to Gomti Nagar. Similarly, a 210 m long flyover is proposed to be built at the end of Birbal Sahni Marg going towards Nishatganj.
