To improve the quality of basic education in India, the Central government has decided to set up 100 new Sainik schools across the country, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday. The government's move will contribute to the overall development of the nation.

 

The path for admission of girls in Sainik Schools was also paved- Rajnath Singh

 

Addressing the 47th annual day celebrations of Vidyadheeraj Sainik School in Alappuzha, Kerala, Rajnath said the central government has also paved the way for the admission of girls in Sainik Schools. The Defence Minister said the central government has decided to expand the reach of Sainik Schools to every district in the country to include students from different cultural backgrounds and remote areas.

 

A soldier should not be seen only from the perspective of war

 

He emphasised that as the country is moving towards self-reliance with progress in various sectors like health, communication, industry, transport and defence, there is a need for a revolution in education and overall development of children. A soldier should not be seen only from the perspective of war, as every soldier has many other qualities.
