Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and former MP Sushil Kumar Modi died late Monday night at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. He was suffering from cancer for a long time. Sushil Kumar Modi was a big name in politics and was among the big leaders of BJP. Sushil Modi was also a Rajya Sabha MP and before that he was also Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister in the Bihar Cabinet.

Sushil Modi was also a Rajya Sabha MP and before this he had also been the Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister in the Bihar Cabinet. Sushil Modi played an important role during the JP movement in 1974 and he entered politics from his student life.

When was Sushil Modi born

Sushil Kumar Modi was born in a Marwari (Vaishya Bania) family of Patna district on 5 January 1952. He was also a lifelong member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and very few people know about it. Sushil Modi, who emerged as a student leader, has come a long way in politics for about five decades.

Studied from Patna University

Sushil Kumar Modi did his matriculation from Ram Mohan Roy Seminary, Patna and then completed his graduation in Botany from Patna Science College, Patna University.

After this, he enrolled in Patna University to complete his post graduation in the same subject. Then he wanted to join the JP movement and for this reason he left his studies after a few months.

He was active in politics since his student life

Sushil Modi became active in student politics while studying in college and in the year 1971, Sushil Modi was also elected as a member of the 5-member cabinet of the student union. After this, he served as the General Secretary of Patna University Student Union between 1973 and 1977.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav was also elected president of this student union and BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad was appointed joint secretary.
