Stock Market Holidays 2025: Before the start of the new year 2025, the most important news has come out for the stock market investors, traders, brokerage houses, foreign (FII) and domestic investors (DII). The country's oldest stock exchanges BSE and National Stock Exchange have released the trading holiday schedule for 2025. The first trading holiday in the year 2025 will be on the auspicious festival of MahaShivratri on Wednesday, 26 February 2025. 

Trading holiday in the market on this day 

BSE and National Stock Exchange have released the schedule of trading holidays for 2025. These holidays will apply to all three segments - Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment and SLB Segment. In the year 2025, there will be 14 trading holidays in the stock market apart from Saturday and Sunday. The market will be closed on Mahashivratri on 26 February 2025 , Holi on 14 March and Eid on 31 March 2025.

Muhurat Trading on 21st October 

The stock market will remain closed on 10th April, 14th April on Ambedkar Jayanti and 18th April on Good Friday. The stock market will remain closed on 1st May due to Maharashtra Day. After this, the market will remain closed on 15th August, then on 27th August on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, on 2nd October on Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. The market will remain closed on 21st October 2025 on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. But on 21st October, Muhurat Trading will take place in the market. The markets will remain closed on 22nd October, the day after Diwali. The stock market will remain closed on 5th November on Guru Nanak Jayanti and on 25th December 2025 on the occasion of Christmas. 

Stock market will be open on February 1 

Let us remind you that on Saturday, February 1, 2025, on the day of presentation of the general budget, special trading will be organized in the market. The market remains closed on Saturdays. But due to the presentation of the budget, the stock markets will remain open.
