Shraddha Walkar Murder Case Update: Aftab Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha Walkar murder case in Delhi, is also allegedly on the target of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Amidst such reports, discussions have also started regarding the security of accused Poonawala. Tihar Jail may review its security. An official source gave this information on Friday (15 November).

Aftab Poonawala, the accused in the Shraddha Walkar murder case, has been lodged in Tihar Jail since November 2022. He was arrested in connection with the murder of his 'live-in partner' Walkar (27) and chopping her body into 35 pieces and dumping it in the Mehrauli forest. 

Poonawala has been kept in Tihar Jail number 4

Poonawala is currently kept in solitary confinement in Tihar Jail number 4 due to threat perception. According to media reports and social media posts, Poonawala is on the target of the Bishnoi gang based on revelations made to the Mumbai Police by an accused arrested in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui in Maharashtra.

What did Tihar Jail say about Aftab Poonawala?

An official source from Tihar Jail said, "So far we have not received any information from the police or security agencies about any threat to Poonawala from the Lawrence gang. If we receive any such information, we may review his security." 

Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddiqui

Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui (66) was shot dead by three assailants near the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui in Bandra area of ​​Mumbai on October 12. He was rushed to the hospital immediately after being shot but his life could not be saved. Members of the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for Siddiqui's murder. 

Lawrence Bishnoi is currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat, while many of his associates are lodged in Tihar Jail.
