Punjab National Bank said that its net profit has doubled to Rs 4,306 crore in the second quarter. In the same quarter last year, the bank had a profit of Rs 1,756 crore. Along with the increase in the bank's profit, interest income has also increased. The bank's interest income in the second quarter was Rs 29,875 crore, which was Rs 26,355 crore in the second quarter of last year.
PNB Share Performance
PNB shares rose 3 percent after the quarterly results. Today, PNB shares closed at Rs 98.97 per share with a gain of 3.40 percent. If we talk about the performance of the stock, the company's stock has given a return of 35.30 percent in one year. At the same time, the company's stock declined by 27.89 percent in the last six months.
Due to increase in profits and income, the non-performing asset (NPA) of the bank's gross loan declined to 4.48 per cent in the July-September quarter, as against 6.96 per cent in the second quarter of FY 2023-24. Talking about the NPA of bad loans, it stood at 0.46 per cent in the second quarter, as against 1.47 per cent in the same quarter last year.
Indian Bank Q2 Result
State-owned Indian Bank also released its second quarter results. In this result, the bank said that its total profit in the second quarter increased by 36 percent to Rs 2,707 crore. In the second quarter of last year, the bank's total income was Rs 15,736 crore, which increased to Rs 17,770 crore in this quarter. After the quarterly results, the bank's shares closed at Rs 551.95 per share, up 10.72 percent.
