News Topical, Digital Desk : Devender Yadav on Rekha Gupta Government: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav launched a scathing attack on BJP leaders and said that while Delhiites are suffering from water and electricity crisis, BJP leaders are living a luxurious life using public taxes.
Describing the official residence of Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta as 'Showchmahal', he said that it is the same sham which was seen in Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's 'Phoolkumari Niwas'.
Royal decorations worth Rs 2.35 crore, Rs 95 lakh spent on toilet
Yadav, citing documents, said that more than Rs 2.35 crore has been spent on the bungalow no. 9 on Shyamnath Marg, in which Rs 94.69 lakh alone has been spent on the renovation of the toilet and bathroom.
Congress alleges that public money is being openly misused through expensive tiles, luxury showers and foreign fittings.
No stone unturned in royal expenditure
While on one hand the people of Delhi are facing power cuts and water crisis, on the other hand Rs 94.93 lakh is being spent on electrical work alone and Rs 44.82 lakh on other repairs and beautification at the house of the Speaker of the Assembly. Yadav said that this expenditure is even more than 'Phool Kumari Niwas'.
Now the competition of bungalow expenditure has started in BJP: Congressman
Yadav said sarcastically that now there is a competition in BJP as to who spends the most money of the public on his bungalow. Which can gradually increase manifold like 'Sheeshmahal' in the coming time. BJP leaders are struggling to get ahead of each other, while the problems of the public are being ignored.
Open game of power struggle and factionalism
The Congress leader also attacked the power struggle going on within the BJP. He said that due to the tug of war between ministers Pravesh Verma and Rekha Gupta, schemes are now being passed without the cabinet. He also alleged that handing over the command of the committee monitored by the PMO and now giving exemption from the cabinet, exposes the internal differences of the BJP.
BJP is preparing to repeat history. Situation like 1993 is emerging again.
The state president reminded that between 1993 and 1998, BJP had changed three chief ministers in the struggle for power. Today again the same story is being repeated. He said that even after 27 years, BJP has not been able to free itself from the lust for power and the race for luxury, and this is a matter of concern for the people of Delhi.
The budget of Rs 1 lakh crore is becoming a pleasure resort for politicians.
Devendra Yadav warned that if this attitude continues, Delhi's budget of Rs 1 lakh crore will be spent only on the luxuries of politicians. He alleged that four months have passed since the BJP came to power, but not a single promise of the manifesto has been fulfilled.
The public is watching everything, will give the answer when the time comes.
In the end he said that the public is watching everything. Just like the public taught a lesson to the Kejriwal government steeped in corruption, in the same way BJP will also get the answer when the time comes.
