Snowfall In Himachal Pradesh: Mountains are as beautiful to look at as they are dangerous in reality. The life of people living in the mountains is always full of challenges. Such a challenge came in front of small children in Haripurdhar of Sirmaur district when they had to reach school to take exams during snowfall.

The temperature in the area had dropped to minus five degrees and the roads were also covered with snow. Meanwhile, there was an annual examination in the school, so the children had to struggle to reach school. Many children even took the risk of reaching school by walking about 12 kilometers in the snow.

The roads were closed due to snowfall.
These days, the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board is conducting examinations for the school children. There are 143 children studying in the primary school in the Haripurdhar area of the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The children had to struggle to reach a height of about 8,000 feet above the sea level to take the exam. The roads were closed due to snowfall. So they had to travel on foot. Many children were carried to school by their parents on their backs. In the morning, the children first participated in the prayer meeting and after that, they took the exam by sitting in a cold room for three hours.

The parents of these children studying in Haripurdhar of Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh demand that the examinations of the children should not be conducted in the month of December. Parent
Dinesh Thakur said that on the lines of Chamba and Kinnaur, examinations should be completed by the end of November in Haripurdhar area as well.

Due to snowfall in the month of December, the cold increases and children have to face difficulty in reaching school. During the cold, many children fall ill and are unable to give the exam properly. In such a situation, the hard work of the children throughout the year goes waste. Parents have demanded from the state government and the School Education Board that the examinations of the children should be completed by the end of November.

Parents can give suggestions to the Deputy Director.
Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Primary Education Director Ashish Kohli said that the department is currently making changes in the holiday schedule in schools. Parents can give suggestions to the Deputy Director regarding Haripurdhar School of Sirmaur district. After receiving the suggestions, it will be considered.
