UP News: The administration has imposed a fine of 25 thousand and 15 thousand rupees on two farmers who were burning stubble in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, a show cause notice has also been issued to the village head of both the villages. The ration cards of the farmers who burn stubble will also be canceled. To prevent pollution, farmers in the villages are being constantly made aware not to burn stubble in the fields, but still the farmers are burning the stubble in the fields to dispose of it.
Burning of stubble is causing a lot of pollution in Delhi NCR. When people saw high flames and smoke rising from the burning of stubble by two farmers in the fields of Daboi Khurd and Fattehpur Dev villages of Sadar tehsil of Sambhal, they made a video of it and made it viral. The district administration became active on this and on the instructions of DM Rajendra Pensia, the administration team reached the spot with police and fire brigade, and the fire was extinguished.
The district officer formed a committee which after investigation imposed fine on the farmers who burnt stubble in the fields. SDM Sambhal Vandana Mishra said that fine has been imposed on the farmers as per the land and farmers are being constantly explained not to burn stubble in the fields. But still such incidents are happening and fines are being imposed to stop them.
Along with action, fine will also be imposed.
Revenue department teams are going from village to village to make people aware so that air pollution does not increase. Farmers are being appealed not to burn crop residues. If farmers still burn stubble, action will be taken against them and fine will also be imposed. Burning paddy stubble in the field is illegal under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
There is also a provision of six months imprisonment and fine if found guilty under this section. In the Delhi air pollution case, the Supreme Court had reprimanded the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) for not taking effective action against stubble burning. Due to the increase in temperature due to fire in the fields, useful bacteria and friendly insects present in the soil also get destroyed. He said that it is very important to stop the trend of burning stubble in the fields, this causes air pollution as well as soil pollution. He has appealed to the farmers not to burn stubble.
