Salim Khan arrived staggering to pay his last respects to Manoj Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan held his hand and hugged him

Veteran actor Manoj Kumar passed away on 4 April. The actor was 87 years old and was ill for a long time. He breathed his last at around 3.30 am in Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital. Today his last rites were performed at Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai. During this time, many experienced actors and filmmakers of the Indian film industry came together to bid final farewell to Manoj Kumar.

The funeral was performed with state honors

Manoj Kumar was cremated with a three-gun salute and full state honours at Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu. His son Kunal Goswami lit the funeral pyre. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Salim Khan, many celebrities including Subhash Ghai, Vindu Dara Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Anu Malik, Zayed Khan attended the funeral. Manoj Kumar is also known as Bharat Kumar due to his patriotic films. His body was wrapped in the Indian tricolour.

Many stars came for the last darshan

A video of Amitabh Bachchan and Salim Khan is going viral on social media. Salim had reached there with his son Arbaaz Khan. The writer came out of his car staggering and the security personnel were seen supporting him. During this time, megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Salim met. As soon as he saw Salim sahab, Amitabh Bachchan broke the security and went ahead and hugged him.

The famous duo of Salim-Javed wrote many films in which Amitabh Bachchan acted, Deewar and Sholay being some of them. Their collaboration shaped Hindi cinema during the 1970s and 1980s.

His films Purab Aur Paschim, Kranti, Shaheed, Roti, Kapda Aur Makaan were based on the theme of patriotism. Manoj Kumar's films left an indelible mark not only on his fans but also on the industry.
