Kanpur: There are 23 thousand families in the district who are not collecting ration for the last six months. They have been considered missing. Information about these ration card holders is being collected. If they do not collect ration, their ration cards will be cancelled. It is believed that they have gone somewhere. Due to which they are not reaching during ration distribution. Due to this, 100% ration is not being distributed.

Details are not being recorded in NIC

Free ration is distributed every month to 815587 families in the district from cheap rate shops. There are 3083939 members in these families who are being given five kilograms of ration per unit. For the last six months, 23 thousand families are not reaching the ration dealers to get ration.

Their details are not being recorded in the National Informatics Centre (NIC). District Supply Officer Rakesh Kumar said that many people go to other states after getting their ration cards made. The number of labourers is high among them. It is possible that they are in the same category. Action will be taken on the basis of the details being recorded in NIC.
