New Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu hosted a farewell dinner for the outgoing Union Council of Ministers of the 17th Lok Sabha led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 5. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also attended the farewell dinner.
President Draupadi Murmu hosted a dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan for the outgoing Union Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rashtrapati Bhavan said in an X post.
The dinner took place just hours after PM Modi submitted his resignation to the President, who accepted the resignation and requested him to continue in his role until the new government takes charge.
President Murmu dissolved the 17th Lok Sabha
According to Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Murmu dissolved the 17th Lok Sabha on the advice of the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It said that the Cabinet, in a meeting held on Wednesday, advised the President to dissolve the current Lok Sabha with immediate effect. The term of the current Lok Sabha was to end on June 16.
