New Delhi. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 36 runs in the second qualifier match of IPL 2024 and entered the final. In this match played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the real hero of Hyderabad's victory was Shahbaz Ahmed, who scored 18 runs with the bat and took 3 wickets with the ball.

Now Hyderabad's team will face Kolkata Knight Riders in the final on 26 May. After the defeat in this match, Rajasthan Royals' dream of reaching the final remained unfulfilled. Even after the defeat in this match, Rajasthan Royals' problems did not decrease but increased further. BCCI has fined Rajasthan Royals batsman Shimron Hetmyer for violating the IPL Code of Conduct.

Why did BCCI fine Shimron Hetmyer?

Actually, Abhishek Sharma was bowling in the 14th over of Rajasthan Royals' innings. Shimron Hetmyer was out on the fourth ball of this over. Abhishek changed the length of the ball, which Hetmyer could not understand and the ball hit the left stump and he had to go to the pavilion. During this, he could score only 4 runs in 10 balls.

Rajasthan's last hopes were from Shimron and after getting out, Shimron Hetmyer was seen expressing his anger on the field itself. In anger, Shimron hit his bat on the wicket. Due to this act of his, BCCI fined him 10 percent of his match fee after the match.

Hetmyer has committed a Level 1 offense under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. However, he has admitted his mistake. The BCCI said that Hetmyer has committed a Level 1 offense under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He also admitted the offense and accepted the sanction of the match referee. The decision of the match referee for violation of Level 1 of the Code of Conduct is final and binding.
