In such a situation, the last Pradosh fast of Ashwin month is being observed today i.e. on October 15. On this day, the auspicious time for the worship of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati is from 05:38 pm to 08:13 pm. During this time, devotees can worship Lord Shiva.

 

What to eat in Pradosh fast?

On Trayodashi Tithi, after taking a bath in the morning, worship Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati in a proper manner and meditate on Mahadev and take a vow to fast. During Pradosh fast, the rules of food (Pradosh Vrat me kya kya khaye) should be followed. During the fast, you can eat things like orange, banana, apple, etc.

What not to eat during Pradosh fast?

It is strictly forbidden to consume garlic and onion on the day of Pradosh Vrat (Pradosh Vrat me kya nahi khaye). Meat and alcohol should also not be consumed on this day. Apart from this, one should avoid consuming wheat and rice during the fast. It is believed that consuming these things can break the fast and the person may have to face the wrath of Mahadev.
