Prayagraj News: Before the organization of Maha Kumbh in Sangam city Prayagraj, there has been a political uproar over the shifting of the statue of Mahadani Maharaja Harshvardhan to another place. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav tweeted on this matter two days ago and called the shifting of the statue an insult to the generous Harshvardhan, while today his party workers washed the statue with Gangajal and garlanded it with flowers. Akhilesh Yadav and his party have also announced to install Harshvardhan's statue at the old place if their government is formed in UP.

It is worth mentioning that a statue of Maharaja Harshvardhan, about twenty-one feet high, was installed years ago at the entrance of the place where the Kumbh area begins in the Sangam city of Prayagraj. The people of the city knew this place as Harshvardhan Square. A flyover is being constructed there these days in view of the Maha Kumbh. The road where the statue was installed under the flyover is being widened. Due to this, four days ago the statue was removed from there and shifted to a park located at the intersection outside CMP Degree College, about half a kilometer away. The statue has been shifted, while the work of installing a plaque and beautification of the park is going on in full swing.

Akhilesh Yadav raised questions
After the statue was shifted, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav raised questions by tweeting. He said that the Yogi government has insulted Maharaja Harshvardhan by removing the statue from its original place. He has written in his tweet that whenever the Samajwadi Party government is formed in UP, this statue will be installed back at the same place.

On the instructions of Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party workers reached the statue site today and washed the statue of Maharaja Harshvardhan with Gangajal. After washing with Gangajal, they garlanded it and also raised slogans against the Yogi government. Protest leader Sandeep Yadav says that the Yogi government has insulted Maharaja Harshvardhan. The people of Samajwadi Party will not tolerate this at all.
