Theft in Wedding: The henchmen of the 'Band Baja Baraat' gang arrive at weddings posing as fake guests and steal the goods in a moment as soon as they get the chance. While the family members are busy with work at the wedding, the goods are stolen in a moment.

In the midst of the wedding season, news of thefts has come to light in two cities of Rajasthan on Thursday. Where the miscreants carried out thefts in weddings and fled with bags full of jewellery and cash. Now the police has started searching for the thieves on the basis of CCTV footage installed in the marriage hall to investigate the matter.  

Jewellery worth 13 lakhs stolen before engagement
The engagement ceremony of Shravan Chaudhary, a resident of Jhotwara, was being held at Miracle Marriage Garden on the highway in the capital Jaipur. During this, his daughter left the bag in her hand with a relative woman to go on stage.

Then two miscreants came and evaded eye contact and stole the bag kept near the chair. After a while when the girl returned, it was found that the bag was stolen. On receiving information about the theft of the bag containing jewellery and cash, the Harmara police station reached the spot and began investigation. According to the complaint given to the police, the bag contained jewellery worth Rs 13 lakhs and Rs 8 thousand. On the basis of CCTV footage, the search for the absconding thieves is on.

Theft of lakhs before paying the dowry:
At Radha Kunj Garden in Beawar, during the Haldi ritual in the middle of a wedding, a thief escaped with a bag full of jewellery and cash. Pandit Suresh Vaishnav had come to pay the dowry for his nephew's wedding. Vaishnav is also the district president of Vishva Hindu Parishad.

On receiving information about theft in a wedding, the police reached the marriage garden and after taking information about the incident from the family members, scanned the CCTV footage. On seeing the footage, it was found that a thief was seen running away after stealing a bag. According to the complaint given by Dharmichand Vaishnav, the bag contained 15 tola gold jewellery and 5 lakh rupees in cash. A similar incident of theft had also taken place in Beawar at the wedding of the son of a person named Sitaram Sharma in Kesari Nandan Garden.

Use of minors in theft
On Thursday, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police exposed the Band Baaja Baraat gang. This gang was quite famous for stealing in weddings. This gang used to use women and children to steal in weddings.

Additional Commissioner of Crime Branch Sanjay Bhatia said that the gang members used women and children for stealing and they were also given proper training. The gang would first identify the family members at the wedding and then target the bag which contained cash or jewellery. After stealing the bag, it would be immediately passed on to other members. This bag would reach the railway station through three to four people and from there it would be sent to the village through train.
