Paddy Management: Paddy procurement has started in most states of the country. Farmers are also selling paddy in the market at MSP. Paddy procurement has started in many districts of Uttar Pradesh from November 1. There is a lot of paddy inflow in the markets of eastern UP. Therefore, paddy procurement is to start from November 1 in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh government has started preparations for the same.

The state government has directed the district administration, agriculture department and market officers to complete all the arrangements related to paddy purchase. Let us tell you that the support price of paddy in the state has been fixed at Rs 2300 and Rs 2320 per quintal for paddy grade A. At the same time, a total of 4000 purchase centers of the Food and Logistics Department and other purchasing agencies have been set up for the sale of paddy by farmers in all the districts of the state. 

Paddy procurement will begin in these districts from November 1 
The Uttar Pradesh government is going to begin paddy procurement in eastern Uttar Pradesh from November 1. Procurement has been scheduled on different dates in the districts of Lucknow division. Procurement will begin from November 1 in Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Unnao of Lucknow division along with eastern Uttar Pradesh, while paddy procurement has been going on in Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur since October 1. 

Payment will be made within 48 hours
The Yogi government has directed to make payment to the farmers within 48 hours after purchasing paddy from them. For this, registration for paddy purchase was going on from September 1 by the Food and Logistics Department. A total of 4000 purchase centers of Food and Logistics Department and other purchasing agencies have been set up for paddy sale by farmers in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh. The purchase centers will operate from 9 am to 5 pm. According to the Agriculture Department, the area covered by paddy for the Kharif marketing year 2024-25 is 61.24 lakh hectares. This year the production of paddy is estimated to be 265.54 lakh metric tonnes. The average production is estimated to be around 43.36 quintals per hectare.
