Hollywood veteran actor Gene Hackman passed away on Wednesday. According to reports, the bodies of Oscar Award winning actor Gene, his wife and dog have been found in their house. The news of the death of the 95-year-old Hollywood actor has created a wave of mourning in the Hollywood industry and fans are paying tribute to him on social media. 

 

New Mexico sheriff shares news of Gene Hackman's death 

According to a BBC report, the sheriff of Santa Fe County has confirmed the news of the death of Gene Hackman and his wife. He said, "The bodies of 95-year-old Gene Hackman and his 63-year-old wife have been found in their home in Sunset Trail (New Mexico). He said that the investigation in this case is going on. According to him, some kind of criminal conspiracy is involved in this. 

Santa Fe County Sheriff Eden Mendoza confirmed to the local media that the couple died at midnight on Wednesday. Not only the husband and wife, their dog was also found dead. Gene Hackman was born on January 30, 1930 in San Bernardino, California.  

 

Started his career with this television show

Gene Hackman may have been a big name in Hollywood films, but he started his career with television shows in the year 1959. His first TV show was The United States Steel Hour. After this, he worked in television series like Brenner, The Defenders, Look Up and Live, Naked City, Route 66 and East Side West Side. 

 

Apart from this, in the year 1961, he worked in Hollywood films like Mad Dog Call, Lilith, Hawaii, Banning, A Covenant with Death, The Split, Right, Downhill Racer. 

 

Gene Hackman received Oscar awards for these films 

Hackman not only received love and appreciation from fans for his brilliant acting, but he was also honored with an Oscar Award for his role of Jimmy 'Popeye' in William Friedkin's thriller film 'The French Collection' released in the year 1971.

Apart from this, he was also honored with the best film award for playing the role of Little Bill Daggett in Clint Eastwood's western film 'Unforgiven' released in 1992. 

 

His other films that received Oscar nominations include the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde, in which he played the role of Buck Barrow. Apart from this, he also received an Oscar nomination for the 1970 film 'I Never Sang for My Father', in which he played the role of Gene Garrison.
