An important update has come regarding JTL Industries, a company that manufactures Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) steel pipes. The company has informed about getting a big order in the exchange filing. The company said that it has received an order of Rs 265 crore from Jal Jeevan Mission Jammu.

"Under this contract, the Chandigarh-based company has received orders to supply SI-certified galvanized mild steel (GMS) tubes for 95% of the sizes. The total order is about 35,473 metric tonnes," the company said in an exchange filing. "This achievement indicates JTL's commitment to support important basic infrastructure projects and contribute to the country's development," the company added. Jal Jeevan Mission is a scheme that aims to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households in rural India by 2024.

 

Under this government scheme, as of August 2024, about 15.07 crore rural households have been connected. This has achieved about 78% coverage. The mission emphasizes on community-led planning, technological solutions for sustainability and monitoring. JTL Industries, which specializes in the production of ERW black pipes, pregalvanized and galvanized steel pipes, etc., has manufacturing facilities in Punjab, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. The company has a pipe manufacturing capacity of around 6.9 MTPA and backward integration of ~3,00,000 MTPA. Stock started running Last month, JTL announced a stock split for investors.
