New Delhi: Farmers will now have to pay heavily for burning stubble in the fields. After the strictness of the Supreme Court, now the central government has increased the fine amount. Air Quality Management Commission Amendment Rules-2024 will be effective in the National Capital Region and surrounding areas. Under this, a farmer having less than two acres of land will have to pay environmental compensation of Rs 5000. A farmer having two acres or more but less than five acres of land will have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. A farmer having more than five acres of land will have to pay a fine of more than Rs 30,000.
