Ghaziabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Namo Bharat train from Sahibabad to Anand Vihar station on Sunday. In view of this, security has been beefed up in Ghaziabad. According to officials, in preparation for this program, Ghaziabad Police has declared eight police station areas as drone-free zones. To ensure maximum security during the Prime Minister's visit, flying drones has been banned in Kotwali, Madhuban Bapudham, Nandgram, Link Road, Sahibabad, Indirapuram, Sihani Gate and Kaushambi police station areas.

The police have also invoked Section 163 (power to issue orders in urgent cases of nuisance or apprehension of danger) of the Indian Civil Defence Code to maintain law and order. "Security has been tightened across the city and we will soon issue a route diversion plan for smooth movement during the event," Kumar said.

The train will run on a route of 82 km between Delhi and Meerut
The entire corridor of the Rs 30,274 crore project will be 82 km long and will stretch from Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan station to Meerut's Modipuram. Mail express train takes one and a half hours between Meerut and Delhi and two hours in local train, but RRTS will take only 55-60 minutes. The entire project is expected to be completed in June 2025. Let us tell you that the foundation stone of this project was laid by PM Modi on March 8, 2019.
The first section was inaugurated on October 20, 2023
The first 17-km priority section of RRTS between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot was inaugurated by Modi on October 20, 2023. Currently, Namo Bharat services operate in the 42-km corridor covering nine stations including Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North and Meerut South.
