New Delhi. In his address to all the NDA components on Friday, the Prime Minister made it clear that his new team is going to play on the old pitch of economic development. The team's goal will be to make the country's economy the third largest economy in the world so that every citizen of the country can fulfill his needs comfortably.

The reason for playing on the old pitch is that due to the economic policies adopted in the last ten years, India's economic growth rate has been more than seven percent for the last three financial years and India has become the fastest growing country in the world. Seeing the strength in various economic indices, on Friday RBI increased its GDP growth rate estimate for the current financial year 2024-25 from seven percent to 7.2 percent.

Three crore new houses will be built for the poor

It is clear that Prime Minister Modi is not going to tamper with the economic policies of his last two terms. In his speech on Friday, he made it clear that schemes like Mudra loan will continue along with spending on infrastructure, building manufacturing hubs, expanding digital connectivity and technology, encouraging tourism and other service sectors so that the poor can start their own business with small loans. In the same sequence, he said that in this term, the youth will be able to take a loan of up to 20 lakhs from banks to start a business. Bringing the poor out of poverty is also included in the priority of Modi 3.0 as before.

He said that the program of empowerment of the poor will continue. He said that in the new term, three crore new houses will be built for the poor. So far, four crore new houses have been given to the poor. On Friday, Modi also approved the announcement of providing treatment up to five lakh rupees annually to all the elderly above the age of 70 under Ayushman Bharat. Right now only poor families are getting treatment facilities under Ayushman Bharat. In his speech, Modi reiterated that he is committed to making the country the third largest economy with five trillion dollars. He said that if the size of the economy increases, then the needs of the country are easily fulfilled.

Saving facility for middle class is also a priority of the government

Prime Minister Modi said that the middle class is the driver of the country's development and their well-being and convenience is our priority. He said that we will make a policy in the direction of how the middle class can save something and how their life can be made easier. On this statement of giving savings facility to the middle class, economic experts say that the middle class may get relief in tax rates in the budget to be presented in July. The interim budget for the current financial year 2024-25 was presented in February this year.
