Meerut News Today: Two youths died by drowning while crossing a canal in Meerut. After this incident, there was a stir in the area. These youths had come to attend a wedding. After this incident, the joy of the wedding turned into mourning. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police went to the spot and called the rescue team.

The Ganga Canal of Meerut's Sardhana area has taken the lives of so many people. People avoid going near it, but the madness of five friends of Meerut led to the death of two youths. These youths had made a bet to cross the canal.

Two youths refused to cross the dangerous canal, but the other three friends, swearing to live and die together, held hands and started crossing the canal on foot. After walking some distance, two youths Faizan and Shahvez fell into a deep pit, during which the other three friends lost their grip and ran towards the bank of the canal to save their lives. 

There was chaos after the incident.
There is less water in Ganganahar right now, but its depth is so much that an elephant can drown. People standing nearby tried to stop these five friends, but nobody could stop the madness of these five. Faizan and Shahvez both drowned in such a way that they could not come out of the water. 

As soon as the news of drowning of both the youths was received, there was chaos among the family members. As soon as the information of the incident was received, a team of divers also reached the spot. However, even after a lot of efforts, no trace of both of them has been found. The other three youths who had entered the water are crying badly after this incident.

Mourning in the happiness of marriage
Actually, preparations were going on for the marriage procession in Sardhana area. 18 year old Faizan, a resident of Mohalla Ghosiyan of Sardhana and Shavez, a resident of Macheran Mohalla of Meerut were preparing to go to the marriage procession. After having breakfast, he reached Ganga canal with his three other friends. 

From here, all five got crazy to cross the canal, but while crossing the canal, two of them drowned. This turned the happiness of the wedding into mourning. Both the bride's side and the baraatis are camping on the banks of the Ganga canal. Haji Irfan, a relative of the youths, said that all five had set out to cross the canal holding hands, but two of them drowned. After this accident, the relatives are in shock.

Rescue operation continues
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police also reached the spot and the divers also tried their best to search for the two youths who drowned in the Ganga canal. But no trace of both was found. Due to nightfall, the rescue operation was stopped. 

Today, Thursday morning, divers have again started searching for the two youths in the Ganga canal. Sardhana police station in-charge Pratap Singh says that divers are trying their best to find both of them, but have not been successful yet.
